Mengchao (Michael) Chen

Mr. Michael Chen is currently Vice President of Wanda Hotels & Resorts (HK00169).

Michael started his career as a surgeon at the People’s Hospital of Jiangsu Province. In 1994, Michael joined Nanjing Jinling Hotel as Assistant F&B Director. He then served as Director of Sales & Marketing of Jinling Hotel Co Ltd (601007.SH), Vice President of Jinling Hotels & Resorts. After that, Michael served as Vice President of China Wallink Group and President of Smart Hotels Group, Vice President of China Jin Mao Group (HK06139), CEO of Mangrove Tree Hotels & Resorts.

Michael graduated from Nanjing Medical University in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Medicine. He graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2004 with the degree of Master of Science in Hotel and Tourism Management. In 1999, he was sponsored by the China Scholarship Council, to study at the Tourism and Hospitality Management Department of Purdue University as a visiting scholar, majoring in Hotel Management, Marketing and Applied Research of Brand Management.

Michael has unique views and rich practical experience in the fields of planning and positioning, project preparation, system construction, group control, multi-business cross-border operation and management, brand building, marketing and so on.
