Dr. Katie Sveinson is an assistant professor in the sport and recreation management department.
Her research work combines sport management and sociology of sport, with a focus on sport consumer behavior. Specifically, Dr. Sveinson’s work investigates sport fandom from gender, culture, behavior, and identity-based perspectives. Her work has been published in the Journal of Sport Management, Sociology of Sport Journal, and Sport Management Review.
Dr. Sveinson earned her PhD in kinesiology from the University of Regina. She also received a master of science in kinesiology and a bachelor of science in sport and recreation studies from the university.
