Alumni, your experience doesn’t have to end with graduation from Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Beres Walton, a freshman at the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management, is part of that rising percentage of students traveling from outside Pennsylvania to Broad Street.

This fall, Altschuler, a faculty member at the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM), is going to Japan for a year to start the tourism and hospitality management (THM) curriculum at Temple’s Japan campus (TUJ).

This fall, Coleman joins Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management. As a member of the Class of 2027, Coleman found his fit with STHM’s sport management and analytics programs.

Melvin Powell, BS ’13, is hosting Black Soul Summer, a coalition of African American and Latino curators that is producing a free community music series that highlights local vendors, local artists, performers, engaging art activations and wellness programming.

Tourism has long been regarded as an effective tool for addressing economic inequality. Governments invest in tourism in the hope that the benefits will trickle down to lower-income groups through the employment of local people and businesses.

Liz Taylor and Jonathan Howe, assistant professors in the Department of Sport and Recreation Management, both had no doubt in their minds that their students were winners. Now they have the awards that prove it.
