Event and Entertainment Management


The School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) offers a certificate in event management. This program allows all Temple University students to enhance their education by expanding their knowledge and experience, helping them become more well-rounded professionals.


All Temple University undergraduate students may enroll in STHM certificate programs. This 12 credit program offers a focused approach to specific aspects of working in the event and entertainment industries.


The Certificate in Event Management exposes students to courses that will prepare them for the dynamic world of event planning and management. The program is designed to be integrated into majors outside of STHM and will deliver marketable skills that can be applied in any field.


Current Temple University students interested in declaring a certificate in the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) can do so by:

  1. Meet with your home academic advisor to confirm the minor will fit into your present academic and graduation plan. After confirming plan fit, please e-mail to meet with an academic advisor or attend our peer advising hours in 108 Speakman Hall.
  2. Submit a Change of Program Request form to officially add the minor.
  3. Once approved, the form will be submitted electronically to the Office of the University Registrar (O.U.R). In 3-5 business days, the request will be processed and then visible within Self-Service Banner (Student Information tab).

To seek assistance in monitoring your progress, students are asked to meet with an academic advisor during walk-in hours. Students unavailable during walk-in hours and those who need to have in-depth conversations can  email to schedule an appointment.
