Biography

Dr. Lu Lu is an Associate Professor, Arthur F. McGonigle Research Fellow of the School of Sport, Tourism, and Hospitality Management at Temple University. Dr. Lu joined the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management from Washington State University, where she earned her Ph.D. degree and served as an instructor.

Dr. Lu’s research focuses on consumer behavioral marketing, primarily in service interactions and marketing, and food and beverage decision-making. Her research also examines the role of marketing messages in consumer travel decision-making. Dr. Lu’s research papers appear in leading hospitality, tourism, and business journals, including the International Journal of Hospitality Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management, Tourism Management, Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, Journal of Business Research, and more. Dr. Lu serves as the associate editor of the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology and editorial board member of several leading hospitality and tourism journals, including the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management, and Cornell Hospitality Quarterly.

Dr. Lu’s research paper has received numerous awards, such as the Highly Commended Award for the Outstanding Research Article, presented by the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research in 2021, and the Highly Commended Award by the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management in 2017. She received the Best Paper Awards at the 28th and 21st Annual Graduate Education & Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism. She earned the 2015 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad, sponsored by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award for 2015-2016 at Washington State University.
