Prince Moody joined the Temple Athletics staff in July 2021 as the department’s first Associate Athletics Director for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Student-Athlete Development,
Moody arrived at Temple after serving the past eight years in the student-athlete support services office at Ohio State University. The Columbus, Ohio native first served two years as a football academic specialist before being promote to the role of learning specialist in 2015. After three years in that more key academic support role, he was elevated into a leadership role in the department, serving first as the Buckeyes’ Manager of Diversity and Health Initiatives programs for one year (2017-18) before becoming the Director of Student-Athlete Engagement (2018-21).
In his role as Director of Student-Athlete Engagement, Moody was responsible for creating a department-wide Diversity Strategic Plan for the Office of Student Academic Success (OSAS) and for Ohio State’s Athletics Department that support the university’s efforts toward inclusive excellence. He also was charged with implementing department-wide mandatory implicit bias training for staff, student-athletes, and coaches.
Moody served as a faculty advisor for all student-athlete groups: SAAC, Peer Educators, Global Buckeyes, SVP, SHEROS, and Redefining Athletic Standards (R.A.S) as well as organizing and running campus wide Scarlet, Gray & Sober Tailgates: a partnership with Student Life, the Student Wellness Center, Collegiate Recovery Community, and Student Legal Services, to provide a substance-free environment for students, faculty/staff, and fans to celebrate prior to home football game each fall. He also directed First Year Experience (FYE) programming that pertains to First Generation students and other targeted populations and was the department liaison to campus and local community on initiatives and projects relating to health and wellness in addition to diversity and inclusion.
A former football player at the University of Wisconsin where he earned both his bachelor’s degree in history (’09) and master’s degree in educational leadership and policy analysis, Moody started his athletic administrative career with the Badgers, serving first as intern in both the compliance and academic support areas for one year (2009-10) before serving two years in the Office of Student-Athlete Development as its “Beyond the Game” coordinator, an initiative intended to confront the challenges student-athletes face with post collegiate transitions.
