Michael Usino currently serves as the Assistant Dean of the School of Sport, Tourism, and Hospitality Management (STHM). As a member of STHM’s leadership, he assists in the oversight of the School’s academic affairs and student experiences, working to develop and maintain a seamless, exceptional, and empowering student experience that prepares future leaders for the sport, tourism, hospitality, and entertainment industries.
With over 20 years of experience in higher education administration and leadership, his experience ranges from admissions and enrollment management to development, marketing and communications, and academic administration. Michael also has over 15 years of experience in the classroom having taught courses in areas like writing for business, analytical reading and writing, and American and English literature. He is a six-time awardee of the College of Liberal Arts’ Outstanding Teaching Award within the Department of English.
Michael has also proudly served in various advisory capacities around Philadelphia’s business and education communities including appointments to PHLCVB’s Multicultural Affairs Congress (MAC) and the Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Network (YPN).
He is a proud alumnus of Temple University, having earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English and a Master of Liberal Arts (MLA) from the College of Liberal Arts.
