Internship Programs

Graduate Internship — 3 Credits

Graduate Internship is a minimum of 180 hours over the course of one semester (15 weeks fall/spring semesters; 12 weeks summer semester) and is worth 3 academic credits.

Internship Eligibility:

  • Students must have a good academic standing with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.00.
  • All Incomplete (I) and Missing Grades (MG) on your Academic History must be eliminated prior to the end of the semester before Internship.
  • Student must have attended a Graduate Internship Information Session, scheduled each semester by the CSPD

Please note: If a student is on an academic status (warning/probation) or has a cumulative grade point average below 3.00, a student’s CSPD approval will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

How to Begin the Internship Approval Agreement Process

  1. Review the STHM CSPD Graduate Pro Board on Canvas for all next steps and links to complete the approval agreement and to get started in the process
    • This includes completing all required workshops (including watching the Internship Information Session), completing the Graduate Internship Course/Experience Approval Agreement
      • The process for internship starts the semester before the start of the semester in which you are planning to complete the experience

EX: Planning to complete the required internship course in the fall 2021? The process starts in April/May 2021; if you are planning to complete the required internship course and experience in the spring 2022, the planning and process will begin in September 2022, etc.

Important Deadlines:

Fall Internship course/experience approval paperwork due no later than May 15th

Spring Internship course/experience approval paperwork due no later than October 15th

Summer Internship course/experience paperwork due no later than February 15th
