2 New Faculty Members Join STHM

This year, the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) at Temple University is excited to welcome two new faculty members. With these two new hires, the school’s departments will expand their research expertise and teaching knowledge in areas such as sport and consumer behavior and employee service performance and emotional labor.

Dr. Lindsey Lee

Dr. Lindsey Lee is an assistant professor in the tourism and hospitality management department. 

Her research work focuses on maximizing employee service performance while supporting employee emotional labor. Dr. Lee’s research interests include identifying management and organizational practices to support employees, implementing emotional labor to manage difficult guests and employee management training and development. Her work has been published in the International Journal of Hospitality Management. 

Dr. Lee earned her PhD in hospitality administration from the University of Houston and holds a master of science in tourism and hospitality management from the University of Central Florida. Her bachelor’s degree in psychology is from Emory University. 

 

Dr. Katie Sveinson

Dr. Katie Sveinson is an assistant professor in the sport and recreation management department.  

Her research work combines sport management and sociology of sport, with a focus on sport consumer behavior. Specifically, Dr. Sveinson’s work investigates sport fandom from gender, culture, behavior and identity-based perspectives. Her work has been published in the Journal of Sport Management, Sociology of Sport Journal and Sport Management Review.  

Dr. Sveinson earned her PhD in kinesiology from the University of Regina. She also received a master of science in kinesiology and a bachelor of science in sport and recreation studies from the university.
