Graduates from The School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM), industry partners, friends and family joined together for a can’t miss event celebrating the school’s 20th anniversary on November 7.
More than 150 people filled the ballroom of Philadelphia’s Union Trust to recall favorite memories and share a few moments with fellow classmates, colleagues, faculty and staff. Established in 1998 with a mission to create memorable experiences for its students, the night’s event was a tribute to the experiences the school has created over the past 20 years.
A variety of music played throughout the night starting with the Elijah Cole Trio, featuring students from Temple University’s Boyer College and Quaker City String Band. The entertainment and excitement continued with appearances by the Phillie Phanatic, Hooter the Owl, the Mummers and Off the Edge Dueling Pianos.
Temple University leadership reflected back on the early days and growth of the school, sharing stories of humble beginnings, perseverance and innovation.
A video tribute featuring STHM pioneers, leadership, graduates and industry partners told the story of a school that has impacted the lives of thousands.
Reflecting on the past & looking forward to the future, Associate Dean Dr. Jeremy Jordan concluded the program, sharing his vision for the next 20 years, “The school will continue to build on the strong foundation that has been established by delivering the best possible experience for its students, engaging in high-quality research and partnering with alumni and industry partners to create new and innovative ways to improve the student experience and the sport, tourism and hospitality industries.”
