Join us for the Women in Intercollegiate Athletics Panel on March 11, 2020. The panel will highlight women’s voices and perspectives on navigating the constantly changing intercollegiate athletics landscape. Featuring women with experience in leadership from Division I, Division II, and Division III colleges and universities, the conversation will focus around work experience, work-life balance, challenges, and insights to help guide women aspiring to have successful careers within intercollegiate athletics and sport, more broadly. 

Moderator:

Susan Ciufo, Head Field Hockey Coach at Temple University
Ciufo joined Temple Athletics in 2019 after successfully leading Stonehill College to three NCAA tournament appearances. Prior to working at Stonehill, Ciufo served as Assistant Field Hockey Coach at both Drexel University and Lehigh University. Ciufo studied at Drexel University, where she completed her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree. 

Panelists:

Nnenna Akotaobi, Founder of 122 Consulting Group
Akotaobi founded a consulting firm specializing in providing support and developing diverse and inclusive organizations and athletic departments. Prior to founding 122, Akotaobi worked at Swarthmore College as Assistant AD, Senior Woman Administrator, and Title IX Coordinator. Akotaobi completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Denver, a master’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Denise Fitzpatrick,  Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement at University of Pennsylvania
Fitzpatrick is responsible for University of Pennsylvania’s Athletics Department marketing strategy, which includes overseeing many team’s marketing and major events, like The Penn Relays. Prior to working for Penn, Fiztpatrick worked for Temple University Athletics and the University of Texas, San Antonio. Fitzpatrick completed her bachelor’s degree at the State University of New York, College at Cortland and her master’s from Temple University’s Fox Business School.

Dr. Ashley Hodges, Assistant Athletic Director & Senior Woman Administrator at Rosemont College
Hodges joined Rosemont College in 2018 and is deeply invested in the holistic experience of Division III athletics. Prior to joining Rosemont, Hodges worked at New England College and Southern New Hampshire and worked in administration and athletic training. Hodges completed her bachelor’s at Iowa State University, her master’s at Drake University, and her doctoral degree at Northcentral University. 

Melynda Link, Athletic Facilities Manager at Haverford College
Link joined Haverford College Athletics in 2018 and is responsible for coordinating and managing use of the playing surfaces and event spaces. Prior to joining Haverford, Link worked at LaSalle University and Temple Campus Recreation. Link is an STHM alumna and completed her bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management.

Jessica Reo, Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director & Senior Woman Administrator at Temple University
Reo joined Temple Athletics in 2019 after serving in multiple roles within Division I athletic departments. Prior to joining Temple University, Reo served at Florida International University, University of Central Florida, University of Miami, and Clemson University. Reo completed her bachelor’s degree at Florida State University and her master’s degree at University of Central Florida.
