More Information on the STHM Immersion in Ireland
This immersion is linked to Spring ‘19/ SRM 3220/SRM 5220 Special Topics in Sport and Recreation Management course (3-credit elective).
Students will travel to Dublin, Ireland March 1-10, 2019 to experience the unique intersection of sport and culture in Irish society. Visits, lectures, and discussions will focus on traditional Gaelic games including Gaelic football, hurling, handball, and Irish dance. In the course, students will learn about Sport in Ireland, European Club Sport Management, the politics of sport specific to Ireland, and Event Management at international venues. Site visits include the University College of Dublin, Croke Park Stadium, the Gaelic Sports Museum, Na Fianna Gaelic Sports Club, the National Sports Campus, and Leinster Professional Rugby Club and tourism visits to the Boyne Valley and the Cliffs of Moher.
This SRM 3220/5220 course will appeal to those who are interested in Sport and Recreation Management, Sport Business, Sport Sociology, and International Business.
