Connect & Converse is an exciting virtual conference that provides students, alumni, and industry professionals a platform to network and create professional relationships. In response to COVID-19, the school is opening the event to all professionals of the hospitality, tourism and sports industries, free of charge, so that members can stay connected and engaged while navigating next steps in their careers.

This virtual conference features panel discussions, networking opportunities and human resource toolkit sessions, such as virtual interviewing tips, maximizing your LinkedIn presence and more. Attendees will hear from industry professionals who are currently navigating the COVID-19 crisis, and participate in three different sessions; Crisis Conversations, Human Resource Toolkit, and Career Conversations spotlighting STHM alumni.

Crisis Conversations: In light of recent events, this session will feature open discussions with industry professionals about how they are dealing with the current COVID-19 crisis in the workplace, and how it is impacting the hospitality, tourism and sports industries. Speakers will also talk about previous setbacks they have had to overcome both in their careers and industries.

Human Resource Toolkit: Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from human resource professionals in the hospitality, tourism and sports industries and gain valuable insight and tips on navigating the job market in response to how hard COVID-19 has hit our industries. Topics covered will include how to update your resume and your Linkedin profile, interviewing tips, navigating the job search and more! This session will be essential resource for those members of our industry who have been recently displaced and are looking for their next opportunity.
