What does it mean to you to be a student-athlete at the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management?

The experience has made me truly embody the values of perseverance, teamwork and leadership, both on and off the field. I am filled with pride when I consider that I am representing my school and contributing to its legacy while also preparing myself for a successful future.
What was your decision process like when choosing to attend Temple?

I knew that I wanted to attend an institution that would challenge me academically and offer a strong support system for student athletes. I immediately felt that STHM stood out because of its reputation for providing a top-tier education, especially in the areas of study that aligned with my desire to become an athletic director. I knew I could thrive both academically and athletically here.
How has the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management supported your pursuits as a student-athlete?

Being a student-athlete definitely demands being disciplined, especially when it comes to planning out your schedule and accomplishing schoolwork. Luckily, I have found our professors truly go above and beyond to ensure that we as student-athletes are given the tools and resources needed to find success in our college experience. As a cheerleader we have many travel opportunities—whether it be for nationals or supporting our teams—and I’ve found my professors to be very understanding of those commitments.

“I am so proud to represent STHM and Temple in the national competition spotlight.“
How will your student-athlete experience benefit you beyond your time at Temple?

STHM’s reputation—combined with my ability to have developed keen personal discipline skills—has helped me already stand out in consideration for internships and job opportunities. It’s a great combination of both worlds because, while STHM has allowed me to connect with such a great alumni network, in addition to industry professionals, my experiences as a cheerleader have made me be more outspoken and comfortable to discuss insights with professionals.
What would you say to a prospective student-athlete who is considering coming to Temple?

Beyond creating such a vibrant community, Temple really showcases a commitment to ensuring their student-athletes thrive while pursuing their academic and athletic goals. Especially at STHM, you are obtaining a world-class education while also receiving dedicated support that understands and accommodates the needs of student-athletes. You are provided with a strong network that helps cultivate valuable connections on and off the field.
What academic and athletic goals do you have for this year?

I’ve always kept in mind the importance of balancing academics and athletics. I really want to ensure that I allow myself time to take breaks to continue managing the student-athlete lifestyle effectively. Overall, I am so proud to represent STHM and Temple in the national competition spotlight. I hope we can find success, especially in my final year here, to contribute to the school’s legacy and inspire future student-athletes!
