Marie Baker Brown Endowed Scholarship
About Marie Baker Brown
Marie Baker Brown, a beautiful woman inside and out, lost her four year battle with breast cancer on September 17, 2006. Her love for her son, contagious energy, and sincerity will be remembered and missed by all. Marie joined the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCVB) in 1985. Her credits at the PCVB include producing elements for the celebration of the Bicentennial Pennsylvania Convention Center opening, and the 2000 Republican National Convention, just to name a few. Marie was a special friend to so many, and the PCVB is proud to partner with the Temple University School of Tourism and Hospitality Management to create an endowment in her name. The PCVB has made the first generous contribution toward the endowment so that each year, at the PCVB Annual Luncheon, a scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates Marie’s spirit of hospitality. Please join us in celebrating Marie’s life by supporting this important educational initiative.
