Prospective Students
Application Requirements
- Each student is required to submit scores on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). The GMAT score is heavily preferred; however, we will also consider the GRE score. The average student accepted into the Ph.D. program has scored 701 on the GMAT. Test scores must be less than 5 years old.
- Foreign students whose native language is not English, or who do not have a bachelor's or master's degree from an American university, must submit scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam. TOEFL scores are only good for 2 years following administration of the exam. We also accept the the International English Language Testing System (IELTS - http://www.ielts.org/default.aspx) exam.
- The average student accepted into the Ph.D. program has had a GPA of 3.5 in both his or her undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
- Applicants generally hold a master's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university. Students who do not hold an advanced degree in an appropriate business discipline may be required to take additional coursework.
- Doctoral admits require a faculty sponsor (please see the "faculty" link at the right for available faculty and their research interests).
Applicants must also provide the following:
- Two letters of recommendation addressing capabilities for graduate study.
- A letter of intent which describes your research interests and work experience as it relates to sport administration, short and long term goals, career aspirations, and why you chose to apply to Temple University.
- Official transcript(s) from all previously attended colleges and/or universities.
- A current resume.
Admissions decisions are made on a competitive basis and meeting the minimum requirements is not a guarantee of admission.
** To ensure complete consideration of your application file, ALL of the above listed materials must be submitted prior to the January 15th deadline.
