About STHM:
- The School of Tourism and Hospitality Management is eager to establish relationships with businesses and organizations that offer goods and services in the tourism, hospitality, sport, and/or recreation industries. STHM undergraduates are required to complete a total of 1030 hours of industry related experience and internship work. Graduate students are encouraged to complete a 3 credit internship: so numerous sites are utilized year long.
- The School consists of approximately 850 students split amongst five degree programs: B.S. in Tourism and Hospitality Management, B.S. in Sport and Recreation Management, M.T.H.M. (Master of Tourism and Hospitality Management), and M.S. in Sport and Recreation Management. In addition, the School offers a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in tourism and sport in partnership with The Fox School of Business.
- Many of our faculty holds the Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) designation and offer individual mentoring in specified fields of interest.
Clearly, Temple University has positioned itself to be at the cutting edge of professional preparation for the expanding fields of tourism, hospitality, sport, and recreation.
Internships:
- All STHM Undergraduate students are required to complete two internships during their studies. The Junior Internship (minimum 180 hours) and the Senior Internship (minimum 600 hours). Graduate level students have the option to complete a minimum 180 hour internship experience.

Volunteer Opportunities:
- All STHM undergraduate students must complete 250 industry-related hours by their senior year through volunteering. Volunteer opportunities are posted on weekly reports sent out to the entire student body.
