MAY 2018 UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT AND STHM GRADUATION CEREMONY

Congratulations May 2018 graduates! Please read the information below carefully. The first thing you need to understand is that there are two separate ceremonies being held for May 2018 graduates:

  • Thursday, May 10, 2018, 9:30 AM, The Liacouras Center:  Temple University’s 131st Commencement Exercises
  • Friday, May 11, 2018, 9:30 AM, Temple Performing Arts Center:  The School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management Graduation Ceremony
TEMPLE UNIVERSITY’S 131st COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES

The first ceremony is Temple University’s 131st Commencement Exercises in the Liacouras Center beginning at 9:30 AM on Thursday, May 10th. This ceremony includes graduates from the entire University. The University Commencement lasts approximately 90 minutes.

The Liacouras Center will open at 8:00 a.m. on the morning of Commencement. Graduates must report to the loading dock entrance (on Broad Street near Cecil B. Moore Avenue) no later than 8:15 AM in academic regalia and maintain single file lines behind their college banners.

THE STHM GRADUATION CEREMONY

A small reception will be held for graduates and their families in the Atrium on the first floor of Alter Hall
following the STHM Graduation Ceremony at 11:30 AM.

The second ceremony for STHM students will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, at 9:30 AM in the Temple Performing Arts Center.  This ceremony only includes undergraduates and master’s students from the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management.  The ceremony lasts approximately 1-1/2 hours, depending on the number of graduates in attendance.

Participating students should report to the lower level of the Temple Performing Arts Center no later than 8:15 AM on Friday, May 11th, to sign in and line up.

PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER

At the graduation ceremonies, each graduate is recognized individually by the Dean and Associate Dean as he or she is called on stage. A professional photographer from Legacy Photographics will be present to record this important moment in the graduate’s life.

The photographer will mail a complimentary proof directly to the address provided on your graduation application with information about purchasing additional prints.
