Graduation Application Information
You must submit an application for December 2017 graduation in Self-Service Banner. Mark your calendar to complete it by November 15.
- Log into the TU Portal and click on the Self Service Banner link in the left column
- Click on the Student tab
- Click on the Student Records tab
- Click on Apply to Graduate and follow the instructions to complete.
Before submitting, verify that all your program information is listed correctly in the application – your graduation date, your major(s), minor(s) and certificate(s). Please be sure that your name is spelled and punctuated exactly as you want it to appear on your diploma.
* If you have already submitted a graduation application through Self-Service Banner, click on View Graduation Application and review the information to be sure it is correct.

December Graduation Dates and Schedule
Friday, February 2, 2018, 2:00 PM – The School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management/Fox School of Business Graduation Ceremony at the Liacouras Center Center
This ceremony includes both undergraduates, master’s, and PhD students from the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management and the Fox School of Business. The Graduation Ceremony lasts approximately 1 to 2 hours, depending on the number of graduates in attendance.
Students must report to the loading dock of the Liacouras Center (1776 N. Broad Street) in academic regalia by 1:00 PM to sign in and line up for the ceremony.

Friday, February 2, 2018, 11:30 AM – The School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management/Fox School of Business Graduation Reception
A small reception will be held for graduating students and their families in the Atrium on the first floor of Alter Hall at 11:30 AM, prior to the STHM/Fox School of Business Graduation Ceremony.

Where Do I RSVP For The Ceremonies And Reception?
Do I have to RSVP?
Yes. All graduates MUST RSVP for the graduation ceremonies and the reception on the STHM RSVP site no later than January 19, 2018 at http://sthm.temple.edu/graduation/graduation-dates/may/rsvp-for-ceremonies/.
How Do I Order My Cap And Gown?
Graduates are required to wear academic regalia (cap, gown, and hood) to participate in the STHM/Fox School of Business Graduation Ceremony. Visit the bookstore’s website to order or click here for details.
Please be sure to purchase the appropriate regalia. The regalia are specific to the degree the student is receiving, not to the school or college he or she has attended:
- All undergraduate students in STHM receive the Bachelor of Science Degree (tassel and velvet hood color are yellow-gold).
- Graduate students in the Sport Business Program receive the Master of Science Degree (tassel and velvet color are yellow-gold).
- Graduate students in the Tourism and Hospitality Management Program receive the Master of Tourism and Hospitality Management Degree (tassel and velvet hood color are crimson).
Where Do We Park?
Cars can park at the Liacouras Garage (1710 N. 15th Street) . Information regarding the lots can be found here: https://campusoperations.temple.edu/parking-transportation/garages-lots.
Each graduate will receive one free parking pass that must be picked up in Room 111 Speakman Hall, between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM, between January 22 and January 26. All other cars will be expected to pay the parking fee in the lots. Parking is limited on campus that day, so please consider car pooling with your guests or taking public transportation.
Will I Receive A Yearbook? When And Where Do I Take My Yearbook Photo?
All undergraduate students who are graduating are entitled to receive a yearbook. Yearbooks are published once a year in May and are available from the School.
Temple University sends out emails regarding Senior Portraits for the Templar yearbook. Instructions are received starting in the summer prior to your graduating year. If you have not taken your senior portrait with Prestige by Lifetouch by December of your graduating year, you will not make the publication deadline to be in that year’s book. When Will I Receive My Diploma?
Diplomas will be mailed to the address listed on the graduation application within 6 to 8 weeks of graduation to all academically cleared students. Diplomas will not be released to students who owe the University money or library books, to those who have not completed exit paperwork if required, or to those who have “financial holds.” Students should resolve such matters prior to graduation and contact the School in order to receive their diplomas on time. Address information should be updated with the School and in Banner if graduates expect a change before graduation.
Diploma frames can be ordered through the University Bookstore.
Where Can I Pick Up The Ceremony Announcements?
Graduation Ceremony announcements are commemorative cards announcing the details of the ceremonies. Eligible graduates will receive four Graduation Ceremony announcements. Announcements can be picked up in Room 111, Speakman Hall, between January 22 and January 26.
