Recreation and Event Management
The Recreation and Event Management concentration in the M.S. in Sport Business program produces effective managers and leaders for public and non-profit sectors of the industry. It also allows students to learn and apply critical theory and best practices in areas of programming, event execution, and fundraising based in the public and non-profit sectors of the industry.
With a focus on areas of parks and recreation departments, youth sport development, programming for diverse populations, and non-profit business strategy, the concentration cultivates the development of creative leadership skills.
Our flexible schedule offers all courses after 5 p.m., allowing students to keep or take on full-time employment, or to pursue internships and assistantships during the day.
A typical full course load would include 9 credits each semester, allowing the majority of students to finish the program in 4 semesters. However, students who wish to take on larger course loads may be able to finish in as few as 12 months.
