The Master of Tourism and Hospitality Management (MTHM)
The Master of Tourism and Hospitality Management (MTHM) develops advanced professionals in the fields of tourism, hospitality, event management, tourism development and commerical recreation management. The program aims to enable professionals to become expert managers, marketers and planners in the public, private and commerical sectors. The program prepares students to be middle-level and, eventually, upper level managers within the quickly developing tourism and hospitality industries.
The Master of Science in Sport and Recreation Management (M.S.)
The goal of the graduate program in Sport and Recreation Administration is to prepare future leaders in the areas of policymaking, management, supervision, education and research. The program provides for the analysis of current trends, problems, and policies that affect sport and leisure services. Designed with a interdisciplinary approach with an emphasis on business and management, the program is structures to prepare students for a wide range of management opportunities within the professional sport, college atheltics, recreation administration and leisure services industries.
Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Tourism and Sport
The Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Tourism and Sport is designed for students interested in pursuing advanced research, scholarship, and pedagogy within the academic framework of the tourism, hospitality, sport and recreation industries. This degree provides a solid business background along with a comprehensive approach to addressing influencing factors in tourism and sport research. This degree program is designed to prepare individuals for employment in institutions of higher education as teachers and researchers; as well as in some cases for administrative leadership positions in a variety of settings. This program has a strong emphasis in the theoretical knowledge base and research paradigms needed to advance the tourism and sport management fields.
