Dr. Kyung-A Sun joined the School of Sport, Tourism, and Hospitality Management at Temple University as an assistant professor in 2016 after attaining her PhD at the Pennsylvania State University.
From her extensive industrial background working in the accounting and finance department as well as involving in consulting projects, her research interests are grounded in the financial issues and the firms’ behaviors unique to the hospitality and tourism industry. In particular, the research focus is on analyzing the financial and strategic issues rising in the hospitality and tourism business, such as franchising and internationalization; hospitality finance and strategic management. Her articles have been published in top-tier refereed journals, such as the International Journal of Hospitality Management, the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, and the Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing.
Dr. Sun received a PhD in hospitality management from the Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Missouri, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Seoul in South Korea.
