Kristy Sromovsky is in her second year as the assistant director of Compliance & Student-Athlete Affairs for Temple University Athletics.
Sromovsky earned the promotion after serving as the Compliance & Student Services Coordinator for the department since January 2010. She was formerly the department’s graduate extern while pursuing a master’s degree in sport and recreation administration.
As the assistant director, the Hanover Township, Pa. native will maintain most of her current responsibilities, including the departments’ distribution of athletics aid, but will now be the main compliance contact for rules education. In addition, Sromovsky will continue to serve as the advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Sromovsky served as the Compliance & Student Services graduate extern from August 2008 to January 2010. The Golden Key National Honor Society member received her master’s degree in sports administration from Temple in May 2010.
Sromovsky is a 2008 graduate of Rosemont College with a bachelor’s degree in history. An accomplished student-athlete, she served as the tennis team captain for three seasons. She earned second-team All-Conference honors as a senior and was a four-time Academic All-Conference honoree.
Sromovsky earned the Ann S. Donaldson award for Excellence in Academics & Athletics in 2007 and 2008, as well as the Cathy Mulvaney Sportsmanship and Character Award in 2008. A member of the Student Government Association, Sromovsky was elected the Class of 2008 president. She also served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as a senior.
Kristy, formerly Bannon, married John Sromovsky in October 2010.
