Jim O’Donnell is Vice President, National Sales for ConferenceDirect, where he works to identify new business opportunities to develop solutions that will improve clients’ meetings and events, save them time and increase their ROI while promoting the national sales strategy of the industry’s leading full service meeting planning company.
Prior to joining ConferenceDirect in February 2017, Mr. O’Donnell was Director of Global Sales for Two Roads Hospitality, where he represented hotels under the Thompson Hotels, Joie de Vivre Hotels, Destination Hotels and Alila Hotels & Resorts brands. In addition to his regional sales role, Jim served as an advisor and subject matter expert to a select group of high-performing sales executives within the sales organization.
From 2010 to 2013, O’Donnell worked with Caesars Entertainment, first in Las Vegas selling Bally’s Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas and later in the New York metro market representing the Caesars portfolio of eight Las Vegas and four Atlantic City properties.
From 2008 to 2010, he worked as Group Sales Manager for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Between 2004 and 2008, O’Donnell worked within the Omni Hotels & Resorts brand in Philadelphia and later in New York, New York in operations and sales leadership roles. Prior to entering sales, O’Donnell built a solid foundation in lodging operations in areas such as guest service, front office, meeting and conference management and housekeeping management.
Jim is committed to promoting education in our industry as evidenced by his active role on the MPI Philadelphia Education Committee and his 2016-17 position as Director of Monthly Programs. He was awarded the “MPI Philadelphia Supplier of the Year” award in recognition of his volunteer efforts. Jim has served as Adjunct Professor in the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University in Philadelphia since 2013.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing & Business Law from the Fox School of Business & Management at Temple University and a Master's Degree from the Temple University School of Sport, Tourism & Hospitality Management.
