STHM Student Association

(Undergraduate Students Only)

The Mission of the STHM Student Association in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management is to promote professional development and to foster relationships between students and professionals through participation in pre-professional activities.

Hospitality, Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP)

This association is open to all Tourism and Hospitality Management students seeking to be professionally involved in technology or finance at the corporate level. There are local meetings held monthly and are open for student involvement. Scholarships are available to members of HFTP. Networking is essential and professionally profitable. Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association - International (HSMAI)

Tourism and Hospitality Management students looking to embark upon exposure to the Hospitality industry should join this association. The Philadelphia chapter has monthly meetings which are educational and a great opportunity to network with the industry professionals. Meeting Planners International (MPI)

MPI's mission is to help members be their best by building human connections to knowledge, ideas, relationships, and marketplaces. For 23,000 meeting and event professionals in over 65 countries, MPI is the inspired, global community that multiplies its potential by accelerating personal growth.

National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH)

This national student association is open to all students in STHM.  Although the association's focus is primarily on the hotel side of hospitality, the organization exposes minorities to opportunities in the industry nationwide. Temple has the primary local student chapter that is supported by the Multicultural Affairs Congress (MAC) of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCVB). Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA)

PCMA-Professional Convention Management Association members represent about 6,000 meeting industry leaders including corporate and independent meeting professionals, as well as industry suppliers, faculty and students. Whether you are looking to build relationships locally, regionally, or meeting our professionals there are a variety of resources, education and networking events, PCMA opens the door to these professionals!

Sport and Recreation Professionals Association (SRPA)

This organization is an excellent opportunity to network with Sport and Recreation Management professionals through scheduled events, conferences, and semester meetings. Jeffrey Montague serves as faculty advisor. Contact him at srpa@temple.edu.

Sport Administration 501 Corporation

(Graduate Students Only)

The Sport Administration 501 Corporation was devised to give graduate students, intent on becoming involved professionally with the administration of an organization or program, an opportunity to observe, participate, and gain valuable experience in the operation and conduct of both profit and non-profit organizations. Through active involvement in the design and management of the Sport Administration 501 Corporation, the students are able to gain practical experience, understanding, and exposure in the field of sport and recreation administration.
