Student Responsibilities and Rights

The material included in the student responsibilities and rights section of the Undergraduate Bulletin or the policies and procedures section of the Graduate Bulletin contains vital information for students, both undergraduate and graduate. It provides students in the academic community with a form of empowerment and a way of knowing the various resources available to them. Students are encouraged to read and familiarize themselves with this information.

Student Code of Conduct and Doctrine of Responsibility

All students in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management are expected to abide by Temple University's Student Code of Conduct and the STHM Students Doctrine of Responsibility.

STHM's Academic Grievance Procedures are detailed in the following document: STHM Academic Grievance Procedures (pdf). Additional information can be obtained from Temple University's Student and Faculty Academic Rights and Responsibilities policy.

All students seeking an internship experience are expected to comply by the eligibility requirements outlined in the STHM Junior and Senior Internship Policy. (See STHM Junior and Senior Internship Policy listed above.)

Student-athletes at Temple University can perform internships in the Temple University Intercollegiate Athletic Department; however, they are not permitted to complete the internship experience with any sport team, including a team of which they are a member. Internships must be completed in athletic administration (marketing, media relations, or compliance) and are not permitted in coaching, sports medicine, or strength training. Each department (marketing, media relations, or compliance) is allowed one intern (student-athlete or non-student-athlete) per semester.

All potential internships are subject to approval once an official Offer Letter and Job Description is submitted to the STHM Center for Student Professional Development.
