STHM ranked among nation’s top hospitality colleges and universities

The Hospitality Management programs at Temple University’s School of Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) have been ranked among the nation’s finest.
STHM earned a No. 23 national ranking from SuccessfulStudent.org, which published in May its 2015 list of Best Hospitality Colleges and Universities in the United States.
“It is quite gratifying that the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management has been ranked among the nation’s top providers of hospitality education,” said STHM Associate Dean Dr. Elizabeth Barber. “This ranking is a testament to the quality of our School’s diverse and accomplished students; our high-impact, comprehensive curriculum; and our renowned faculty, who engage in cutting-edge research that shapes the classroom experience for our students.”
This represents the fourth top-25 ranking earned by STHM within the last 12 months. In September, the School’s Event Leadership Executive Certificate program received the 2014 Haas & Wilkerson Gold Pinnacle Award, distinguishing it as the world’s best program of its kind. A month later, STHM’s Bachelor of Science in Sport and Recreation Management program was ranked No. 1 in the nation. And STHM’s Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management program was included among the nation’s top 25 for undergraduates.
SuccessfulStudent.org ranked the hospitality programs at U.S. colleges and universities based on academics, experiential learning and internship opportunities, program diversity and reputation. Within STHM’s undergraduate programs, all students hold industry internships prior to their graduation, and 90 percent of students earn full-time positions within three months of graduating.
STHM is the largest provider of sport, recreation, tourism, and hospitality education in the Philadelphia region, and an international model for innovative teaching and research.
The Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management program prepares students for entry-level to mid-level positions in tourism, hospitality, and event management, in convention and visitors bureaus, destination management organizations, conference centers, resorts, casinos, hotels, theme parks and entertainment venues.
The Master of Tourism and Hospitality Management program prepares future managers and executives in tourism and hospitality for areas of hotel and resort management; tourism and destination marketing; event design; venue management; restaurant management; and more.
