Dear Friends and Alumni of STHM,

After a thorough search, I am pleased to introduce Dr. Jeremy S. Jordan as the Associate Dean of the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM), effective July 1.

I am impressed with Jeremy’s strategic vision for our school, its faculty, and its student body. His commitment to STHM and Temple University is strong, and I know he is suited for this leadership position.

This summer, Jeremy will work closely with me, as well as with Dr. Aubrey Kent, Senior Associate Dean of STHM and the Fox School of Business, to ensure a smooth transition into his role for the 2017-18 academic year.

Jeremy arrived at Temple in 2008, and has contributed exceptionally in a variety of areas. In addition to his role as Associate Professor of Sport and Recreation Management, Jeremy is also Temple’s NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative, a role in which he serves as the liaison between academics and athletics and works alongside the Board of Trustees, the President’s Office, and Provost’s Office.

His research activity made him a natural choice to succeed Dr. Kent as director of Temple’s Sport Industry Research Center, a role he had held since 2011. He has been a part of 60 research projects totaling more than $700,000 in external funding coming to STHM, and has shown the ability to develop lasting relationships with industry partners from the sport, tourism, and hospitality sectors.

STHM’s reputation continues to soar. Outsiders have taken notice of our academic achievements, resulting in our strongest programmatic rankings to date. So, too have prospective students, who have helped grow our enrollment to an all-time high

I have no doubt that, with Jeremy’s help, our school will continue to flourish academically and embolden our already-strong ties to STHM alumni, industry partners, and beyond for years to come.

Please feel free to contact Jeremy, at jsjordan@temple.edu, to congratulate him personally, learn more about STHM, or share your vision for our school’s future.

Regards,
