David Mondress chosen as STHM’s Gallery of Success honoree

STHM alumnus David Mondress meets Temple University President Dr. Richard Englert at the School’s 2016 Gallery of Success ceremony.

David Mondress, M.Ed ‘92, is the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management’s 2016 honoree for Temple University’s Gallery of Success.

The Gallery of Success showcases banner alumni from each of Temple’s 17 schools and colleges with a display in the lower level of Mitten Hall, located on Temple’s Main Campus.

Mondress, who earned his Master of Education degree in Sport Management in 1992, has more than 20 years of experience in professional basketball. He serves as Senior Vice President of Contracts, Research and with BDA Sports Management, a recognizable name in professional sports player management. BDA represents 35 current NBA players and 55 current international players.

A certified player agent by the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), Mondress specializes in player contract negotiation, statistical analysis, contract dispute resolution, and NBA draft preparation.

His experience in professional basketball dates to the more than a decade he spent working with the NBPA, becoming one of the foremost experts on the NBA salary cap and its collective bargaining agreement with the National Basketball Players Association.

A certified public accountant, Mondress is accredited in business valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

“Congratulations to David, our 2016 Gallery of Success honoree,” said Dr. Aubrey Kent, Associate Dean of Temple’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management. “David’s career path and many successes serve as a model to our students, and demonstrates the places and professional appointments to which a Temple degree can carry them.”
